The Breakfast Club, a comedic and heartwarming movie which came out in 1985, February 15th, directed by John Hughes. This movie was about 5 high school students trapped in detention on a Saturday morning for 8 hours and 54 minutes, instructed by their principal to think about their wrong doings and to write an essay of one thousand words. Each of the students have their own personalities. The brain, the basket case, the princess, the athlete and the criminal.

John Hughes, the director of this movie had passed away in 2009, but had made other great movies such as, 'Sixteen Candles', 'Home Alone', 'Ferris Buller's Day Off' and many more titles. He commonly seems to work with comedic films and it definitely worked for him. All his movies are unique and seem to be enjoyed by many. If you haven't already, go check out his work - it's great!

The brain, Brian Johnson. Played by actor, Anthony Michael Hall. He's the A+ perfect student. Explained to be "a parent's wet dream." He's a great kid, but always under the weight of his parents pressure to do the very best in school and in life. He's serving detention for having a gun in his locker.
"Brian: Know why I'm here today? Do you? I'm here because Mr. Ryan found a gun in the locker..."
Brian had a flare gun, for a suicide attempt. It later went off in his locker which is how it had been found. The actor who played him, portrayed him spot on. A nerd who's nervous and uptight, never wanting to ruin anything or to embarrass himself in front of the cool kids.

The basket case, Allison Reynolds. Played by Ally Sheedy. The very strange character,  mute student who keeps to herself and sits in the back. It's later found out she even prostitutes herself to her own shrink and others for money. She's seen to be really strange based off her actions whether it be making strange noises or decorating art with her dandruff all over it. She's strange and secluded but in secret a complete different person. "Allison: You wanna know what I did to get in here? Nothing ... I didn't have anything better to do." That's why she's in detention. As explained previously, strange. Allophone actor played her perfectly too. Quiet, though easy to listen to when finally spoke to.Image result for the breakfast club allison

- Lastly, the criminal, John Bender. Played by: Judd Nelson.

I personally enjoyed this movie a lot, expecially from its most commonly known scene, the end where the essay which "The Brain" had written. It went to explain truly who the students were individually. The group of students who started off from not knowing one another to being something similar to a perfect group of friends. Or better explained as 'The Breakfast Club."
Another scene in the movie which I enjoyed a lot had been where all the students developed. This was also in the end, where the students had all changed in slight ways to truly portray who they were. Allison, a beautiful girl, Bender, a soft hearted person, Andrew, in love with the pretty girl, Claire, meant to be with someone and lastly, Brian. The same A+ student he was meant to be.
The last scene which I really enjoyed was in the middle when Bender brought out marijuana which the group of kids smoked. I found this part hilarious how all the students reacted to the drug and also how they simply enough had gotten away so simple with having such a thing.

Personally, I thought the movie was great. It's been one of my favorites for a while now,
It's heartwarming, gets you thinking and even could get you emotional at points if you're someone like me who cried watching finding memo. Out of 10, I'd give this movie a solid 9. Great movie and would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a funny movie, also a quick watch.
